This Privacy Policy explains how Zabi Quran / Salaah Prayer Companion ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Quran, prayer, dhikr, family, AI, community, wallpaper, subscription, and related services.

1. Our privacy promise
- Basic Quran, prayer, dhikr, Qibla, and many worship tools can be used without creating an account.
- We do not sell your personal information or your personal and sensitive user data.
- We use data to operate the App, sync your progress, improve reliability, protect users, and provide optional features you choose.
- Religious activity can be sensitive. We treat Quran reading, prayer tracking, dhikr, dua requests, family worship goals, and similar activity as private worship data.
2. Information we collect
The exact data collected depends on which features you use.
Account and profile data
- Name, email address, profile image, Google account identifier, and authentication tokens when you sign in with Google.
- Guest device identifier generated by the App so offline and anonymous features can work.
Worship and app data
- Bookmarks, notes, highlights, last read position, Quran reading history, hifz progress, dhikr counts, Salah tracker entries, streaks, XP, achievements, family goals, groups, dua requests, and community interactions.
- Preferences such as language, theme, script, font size, prayer method, Asr method, reciter, notification choices, and default opening page.
Location and sensor data
- Approximate or precise location when you allow it, used for prayer times, Qibla, mosque finder, halal finder, weather-aware duas, Ramadan alerts, and local Islamic services.
- Compass and motion sensor readings on your device for Qibla direction. These are normally processed on the device.
AI and audio data
- Questions, prompts, selected ayahs, dream descriptions, and other text you submit to AI features.
- Voice recordings or recitation samples if you use AI Tajweed Coach, memorization checking, or recording features.
- AI responses may be cached to reduce cost and improve speed, especially for repeated general questions.
Payments and subscriptions
- Subscription tier, entitlement status, plan, purchase identifiers, and billing status from Google Play Billing or RevenueCat.
- We do not receive or store your full credit card number from Google Play.
Technical, analytics, and support data
- Device model, operating system, app version, locale, crash logs, performance logs, IP address, timestamps, API requests, and diagnostic events.
- Support messages and any information you include when contacting us.
- Push notification tokens from Firebase Cloud Messaging if notifications are enabled.
3. How we use information
- To provide Quran reading, translations, tafsir, audio, prayer times, Qibla, dhikr, dua, family, community, wallpapers, and other App features.
- To personalize your home screen, daily ayah, reminders, streaks, goals, reading journey, and language experience.
- To sync bookmarks, notes, progress, settings, and subscription access across devices when you sign in.
- To process optional AI features and return AI responses in your language.
- To send notifications you choose, including prayer alerts, daily ayah, hadith, adhkar, streak, Ramadan, group, and family reminders.
- To operate subscriptions, prevent abuse, protect accounts, debug crashes, improve performance, and keep the App secure.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of users or the public.
5. When we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the App, provide services you request, comply with law, or protect users. Service providers may include:
- Google services such as Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Google Maps or Places where enabled.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management where enabled.
- AI providers such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, AssemblyAI, or similar providers for optional AI and voice features where configured.
- Infrastructure and storage providers such as our VPS host, Cloudflare R2 or similar storage providers, and database/backups.
- Map, location, mosque, halal, weather, wallpaper, and media providers such as OpenStreetMap/Overpass, OpenMeteo, Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, or similar public APIs.
- Legal, safety, or business transfer recipients if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, sale, or restructuring with appropriate notice.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal and sensitive user data for monetary consideration.
6. Offline cache and device storage
The App is designed to be offline-first. Quran, hadith, guides, preferences, cached API responses, bookmarks, and other content may be stored locally on your device using local storage or SQLite. You can delete local data by using device app settings, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the App. Some cloud-synced data may remain on our servers until you request deletion.
7. Data retention
- Account, sync, subscription, and worship-progress data are kept while your account or guest profile is active, unless you delete it or request deletion.
- Community content such as public dua requests or group activity remains until deleted, expired, moderated, or removed by request where applicable.
- AI prompts and cached AI responses may be retained to provide history, safety, abuse prevention, and response caching. We may remove or anonymize them when no longer needed.
- Crash logs, server logs, analytics, and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, debugging, legal compliance, and product improvement.
- Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing of your personal information. You may also opt out of certain analytics or marketing where available.

9. Children and family features
The App includes family and kids-mode features intended to be managed by a parent or guardian. Children should use these features with parent or guardian permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by local law without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child provided personal information without permission, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. AI and religious guidance
AI features are educational and assistive. AI answers can be incomplete or wrong. They are not a replacement for qualified scholars, teachers, medical professionals, lawyers, or emergency services. For matters of fiqh, marriage, inheritance, financial decisions, mental health, safety, or urgent religious concerns, consult qualified local scholars and professionals.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS for data in transit, access controls, backups, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. Please keep your device and account credentials safe.
12. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards and service-provider commitments to protect transferred information.
13. California and other regional privacy notices
Where laws such as the CCPA/CPRA apply, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, limit use of sensitive personal information, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Submit requests at jessiendun25@gmail.com.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. We will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice. Continued use of the App after an update means the updated policy applies.
